Material broadcast was compiled from material collected ove the previous year either for CBC Mainstreet in Moncton, or the province-wide Summerbeat show which aired during the summer of 1993. ELEMENTS: 1) Opening I.D.s Willie Hicks, Florence Robart, Art Drysdale Paul Boudreau & Charles Donahee. 2) Introduction to show: Host Corinne Friesen tells listenings the show is how people have included or incorporated music in their lives. 3) At 3:55, mothers talke about the songs they sang to their babies, a) Marilyn McKerville, who says her baby would close her mouth rather than let her sing. F) Melanie Donnelly, “Feed The Birds.” 5) AT 12:10-Earliest musical memories: A) Florence Robart, remembers being ut to bed but huddling near the grate to hear her mother and friends downstairs singing songs like “Chattanooga Choo-Choo”, B) Ray March remembers Hank Williams’ I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry being played by his babysitter on armed forces radio in St. Stephenville, NFLD, C) Payson Rowell remembers growing up in Boston and being responsible as the little guy to rush to et good seats for his grandfather at the opera, Lakme’s Flower Song. 6) At 18:53. Thane Mallory talks about being introduced to classical music through Bugs Bunny Cartoons.
